NewsBruce Springsteen ?For You?The New, Highly Anticipated Bruce Springsteen book ? 'For You? Is Being Released November 2007 with a limited press of only 2000 available. With over 400 photos and over 200 unusual tales from some of Bruce Springsteen?s most dedicated fans - this is one book you won?t want to miss. The long awaited and anticipated new Bruce Springsteen book ? 'For You? - a collection of stories, tales and fan experiences from across the world, is currently on the presses and is scheduled for release in November, 2007. Over two years in preparation, and containing hundreds of stories and anecdotes written by his legendary fans, as well as over 400 photographs, most of them never previously published. Editor Lawrence Kirsch said: 'Being a life-long Springsteen fan myself, I recognized there was a pent-up desire for fans to come together and share. Something magical happens at a Springsteen concert. Each concert is like a huge family reunion, even though in all reality you actually know very few of the people there. Complete strangers connect with an immediacy that is tangible.' 'So, in 2005 I came up with the idea for this book and set up a web site called: Foryoubruce.com to confirm if my theory was correct. I asked fans to write in with their experiences, and I was simply amazed by the response. Over 1500 fans from across the globe submitted stories and anecdotes to the website. It was difficult to make the final selection.' Unfortunately, there was no way to include them all. All I can offer is that the tales that are there are representative of so many other stories we received. Fans will be able to identify and relate through the memories of others. I promise you there is something for everyone in this book.' Courtney Love plays surprise birthday show Courtney Love shared her birthday tonight (July 9) with an intimate London show. The rock Queen road-tested her new material at the Bush Hall in west London for an audience of competition winners and close friends. Love played eleven brand new songs, all slated to appear on forthcoming album 'Nobody's Daughter', alongside a slew of Hole classics. This week's low-key tour - which also takes in Paris, New York and Los Angeles - is a chance to break in hew band, which features former Larrikin Love guitarist Micko Larkin. But new songs were the show's main event, with the vast majority of the Linda Perry-produced album getting an airing. Before power-balled 'Letter To God', Love declared: "this was written by me and the genius Linda Perry. She's done a lot of pop, but she's doing a lot of rock right now!" Yet Love was defiant about the lo-fi nature of the show, saying. "I guess I wanted chandeliers and shit sound. And what I got was chandeliers and shit sound!" And the confirmed smoker was quick to complain about the UK's recently-enforced smoking ban, complaining from the stage: "the only place I can smoke in England is the Houses Of Parliament! That's so retarded!" |
